MOT INTELLIGENCE
How to Read a Used Car's MOT History
The useful question is not simply whether the car passed its latest MOT. Look for patterns across several tests.
Repeated advisories
Repeated tyre, suspension, brake, corrosion or other advisories can help focus your physical inspection. A later pass does not by itself explain how an earlier issue was resolved.
Mileage progression
Compare mileage readings chronologically. An unexpected reduction deserves investigation, while consistent readings are only one part of mileage confidence.
Failures and repairs
Look at what caused failures and whether similar issues recur. UKVIN's MOT intelligence engine is designed to categorise those patterns rather than dumping a long unstructured list.
